What are ya’ll doing for Halloween?

Everyone I know goes about as far as carving a pumpkin and watching whatever slasher flick is on TV. We’re lame, but it’s true that Halloween belongs to you in your youth only.

So I gotta live vicariously through you guys! So what ‘ch doing on October 31st ?
Barf Bag

seeing if i have time to change my sora costume into a sora halloween costume Very Happy

Abigail

Seems like a lot of modifications. Colours and textures. You’ve got your work cut out for you.
TRXpert

I am having a Halloween Party! Well actually that is on the 28th I think, and it is also kinda a birthday party for myself since my b-day is on the 29th. So it'll be lotsa fun!
Abigail

I’ll never forget my sister's birthday/Halloween party. It was freaking awesome! All the green paper wigs and my mother in a spider costume complete with eight fury legs. Halloween birthday parties are the best. thumleft
Morbid_Mushroom

Hmmm...Halloween...

Probably gonna paint my face and go to a paty ^__^

Omg...like 2 years ago on Halloween I painted my face up and put an upside down cross on my forehead and went trick or treating(I have long dark hair so I looked pretty foreboding)...and at this one house(heavily Christian) an older man came up to me with a pamphlet and practically shoved it into my hand saying "Take this"...I walked away with my friends cackling like a mad man and then read the peice of paper and it said..."The Devil has many tricks, but God has many treats!" and then a bunch of passages from the bible ect. It was one of the strangest Halloween's ever! Also I have not been trick or treating since!
Abigail

lol, at least he didn’t tell you you’re going to hell. If you’d have turned up on my aunts doorstep you’d have left a Born Again Christian. Laughing
Abigail

How's it going so far Kippers?
TRXpert

For my party, I am considering doing a kind of murder mystery thing and randomly selecting one guest at the party to be the killer. I am having trouble figuring out how to do clues though.
Abigail

Most of the time at MM parties the clues are rhymes that lead people all over the property, each team has a colour so they know which of the clues is theirs and they tend to collect them in different orders from each other. Once they’ve been lead on a merry romp the very last clue is the one that actually refers to the murder.
TRXpert

Hmm, that's very good. I will have to remember that when planning this.
Abigail

For Halloween, I've put scary ghosties on the pages. (^_^)
TRXpert

I noticed, I like them a lot. : D
Abigail

Cool, I only wish I could put cobwebs in the corners.
TRXpert

Oh yeah, that would've been cool.
By the way, my party was great and the murder mystery was a success. I went a different way with it though, because my niece had experience planning a murder mystery. We gave everyone character identities and certain lines to say. The only way to solve the mystery was to talk to each guest at the party(that get's all of the guests talking to each other) and to make notes of who is innocent. It was just a process of elimination, and once you've narrowed it down, you should be able to identify the killer.

Believe me, those clue lines were hard to do and the whole thing had me up until 2 am planning. But it was a lot of fun!
Abigail

Sounds a lot like homework, lol.

Glad it went well and happy birthday for yesterday!
Abigail

Hope you all had a good Halloween people!

I got all nostalgic when the Thriller video came on and simply had to watch the whole 19 minute thing. lol
TRXpert

Thanks! At least the murder mystery had a more fun result then homework would.

Wait, did you say "Thriller"? 19 minutes of THAT? You poor woman...
Abigail

Oh it’s cool. Remember this was back when he was Michele Jackson, not Wacko Jacko. And the whole things directed by John Landis, it’s has motion picture credits and everything.
TRXpert

Oh I see... well then that's not so bad I guess.

I remember in the PS2 game, the X-Files: Resist or Serve, a line Agent Mulder said: "Let's get out of here, Scully, before this place turns into the Thriller video." Gotta love that Fox Mulder humor. I love that game and that's not the only line in the game that I found hilarious. In fact there were quite a few, some even said by Dana Scully.
Abigail

I didn’t even know there were X Files games.
But then I guess I should have known there would be.

Look at all these Murder Mystery ads you conjured up. Very Happy
TRXpert

Oh wow, I didn't even notice those ads...

There was an X-files game for Playstation 1 awhile back, it was good, but it didn't have so much to do with Mulder and Scully, Resist or Serve was a lot like Resident Evil and it was in three parts. Three "missing episodes". It was pretty cool, however Scully's missions were more fun, she had to do all of the puzzle solving, Mulder was just "shoot this" and "shoot that". Still an all around good game, and you could see the game from both agents point of views. Of course Scully's was more scientific and Mulders ending up blaming the aliens. I loved it.
Abigail

I guess you’d have had to have watched more then three episodes to have really gotten into it. Very Happy
TRXpert

Oh yes, I love that show. Very Happy

We had Shrovetide few days ago, I didn't do or go anywhere, I feel like I'm too old for putting on costumes and going from house to house trick or treating lol, an acquaintance of mine said how lame I am for not going anywhere, it's still ringing in my head.
Abigail

Shrovetide, that's like a big carnival right?
- Neža -

Yeah, it's basically like Halloween, people wear costumes and go trick or treating, but we don't have parties and all the decorations, just carved pumpinks mostly, whole point of it is actually that the masquerade are pursuing the winter away.
Abigail

Like Halloween and Groundhog Day rolled into one. (^_^)
- Neža -

I've never heard of Groundhog day, what is it? Smile
Abigail

It’s an old tradition in America and Canada.
In traditional weather lore, if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on February 2nd and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If the groundhog sees its shadow because the weather is bright and clear, it will be frightened and run back into its hole, and the winter will continue for six more weeks.

I think it’s just a sort of national holiday now; I’d really hate to think America’s actually think a rodent can predict the weather.
TRXpert

My sister's birthday is GroundHog Day. XD

Hehe, I don't even ask what the groundhog predicted anymore, because for the past few years I think he saw his shadow(go figure) but then again, that has nothing to do with the weather, probably more to do with all of the lights and cameras they had on the poor hog. Lol Anyone ever notice that "Phil" has been alive for like 10 decades?

Must be like the most pointless of American holidays... Lol
Abigail

No I think that would be Arbor Day. xD
TRXpert

Haha, yeah see, that one didn't even come to mind. LOL
Abigail

At least the trees are meant to live forever.
LadyCroft

I was Lara for the last few years...

It was enough to make my mum pretty irritable! Maybe I'll be a Silent Hill nurse! Always worth a try. I remember one year after treat-or-treating, Casey and I went to her house, ate Sam's Club pizza, took pictures of mirrors (sneaky huh?) and watched Animal Planet's "Most Extreme" Halloween edition. It was awesome.
