The guy getting badly bludgeoned in the Brimstone library? Rayne seemed quite distressed that Kagan was hurting him. She almost reacted as though he was a father figure.
He had a cool name though, Sertramaine (sp?)

He's the proffesor, like some mentor of hers, he raised Rayne.
A bit like Lara Croft + Werner Von Croy. _________________ Bow down and obey |

Raised her? But she was discovered by Brimstone when she was an adult.
So he must have been one of the cloaked figures in the opening FMV.
I thought Mynce was Rayne’s Von Croy. _________________ Are you scared? |

Even I'm not sure what's all that about, I just know Brimestone and the Profesor came to Rayne before Kagan did. _________________ Bow down and obey |

What’s also confusing is Rayne’s aging process. She was born in 1915 (or so says Wiki), and during her mission in 1935 she does looks 20 years old, so aging normally there. But in the next 70 odd years till her BR2 adventure she doesn’t look like she could have aged more then 6 years.
Now you could say she started drinking more blood when she began working with Brimstone, and that slowed her aging. Or that Belier’s eye did it. But either way it’s still confusing. _________________ Are you scared? |

. Most likely a father figure for Rayne, and the only human she cared for, after her mother and her family, Professor Trumain is revealed to be the one who took in Rayne as his own daughter. In a flashback, Trumain is shown having been severely beaten by Kagan, and having his own small intestine around his neck. After Kagan finds the Vesper Shard, he speculates that Trumain and the Brimstone Society truly knew of the power of the Versper Shard (ex. the sun gun) and were planning to use it on all people who have Vampire blood, including Rayne. Trumain pulls out a grenade, gives Rayne time to run, and dies in the explosion, along with the Nazis and Kagan (supposedly). In an FMV with Rayne talking to Severin, she reveals that if Professor Trumain didn't get to Rayne, she would have most likely turned out to be like the rest of Kagan's children. _________________ Don't be naive! Yep, read it a while ago. It kinda contradicts what we see in the first game. Rayne meets the Brimstone society when she’s matured and already on the hunt to kill Kagen. She’s never heard of Brimstone before that. The idea that should could have joined him if not for Brimstone is pretty quite false.
